Key Responsibilities:
- Welding and Fabrication:
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks to repair and maintain recycling equipment, containers, and vehicles as needed.
- Utilize various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding, etc.) to ensure strong and durable bonds on metal surfaces.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine proper welding procedures and requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on recycling machinery, conveyor systems, and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and extend operational lifespan.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, troubleshoot problems, and execute necessary repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and address equipment maintenance needs efficiently.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for oneself and colleagues.
- Participate in safety training programs and consistently follow safe work practices while operating machinery and performing welding tasks.
- Keep work area organized and maintain proper storage of tools, materials, and equipment.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and materials used.
- Generate reports detailing maintenance schedules, completed tasks, and any issues encountered during the process.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and recycling regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel and visitors at Northern Recycling.
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or violations to appropriate supervisors or management.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with fellow team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and efficient problem-solving.
- Communicate effectively to report equipment status, repair progress, and potential concerns.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in welding, fabrication, or related field is preferred.
- Valid certification in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, arc welding, etc.).
- Proven experience as a welder/fabricator, with at least [X years] of relevant work history.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with recycling machinery and equipment is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
