Credit Union of Atlanta is seeking an experience professional to serve as its Network Engineer.

Credit Union of Atlanta is situated in the heart of the West End, Pittsburgh, Adair Park, Mechanicsville, Ashview Heights, Castleberry Hill, and Governmental District sections of Atlanta, and is positioned to become a key provider of financial services to this growing hub of residential and commercial life and the surrounding communities. 

Requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.

  1. Designing, deploying, documenting and maintaining computer networks, systems, and devices includes software, next-generation firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), wide area networks (WANs), local area networks (LANs), virtual local area networks (VLANs), routers, switches, hubs, UPSs and other physical network-related hardware.
  2. Ensure connectivity and creates and maintains documentation for network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, other network appliances, network design and configuration, network mapping, network cabling, backup, disaster methodologies and procedures, connectivity infrastructure processes, and service records.
  3. Coordinates network and end user equipment, hardware, and software installations or upgrades with users, building facilities staff, vendors, electricians, and other technical services staff.
  4. Monitor and test network performance, troubleshoots problems and provides network performance statistics and reports. Fortifies vulnerabilities within the system.
  5. In conjunction with the managed services provider, provides 24/7/365 support for network availability, including responsibility for managing after hours on-call support for issue resolution
  6. Oversees daily operation of the Credit Union's network, routing switching, voice, ACD/VOIP/telecom services, and VMware virtualization infrastructure 
  7. Conducts research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry. Recommends and implements technologies, information systems, software applications, hardware, software and infrastructure that will align with technology plan and business strategies.
  8. Oversees the monitoring of various logs such as server, firewall, and intrusion detection logs.
  9. Ensure proper technology licensing for vendor used and internally used software and website domains and to ensure compliance with all applicable national and local laws.
  10. Interacts and assists in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
  11. Develops and enforces service level agreements for internal help desk and vendor managed technology.
  12. Makes recommendations for, implements changes to and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans and performance metrics for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
  13. Provides end user support for hardware and software issues on site as requested, including network access and troubleshooting end-to-end connectivity problems.
  14. Assists management and makes recommendations in the assessment of near- and long-term network capacity needs.
  15. Participates in the development and leads execution of the corporate annual technology plan in close alignment with CUA’s business strategies and evolving technology requirements/capabilities.
  16. Oversees comprehensive network patch and upgrade cycle to ensure that all equipment, devices, and software are up to date and patched.
  17. Takes the lead in resolving Help Desk tickets.
  18. Collaborates with the internal Risk department on compliance audits and remediations. 
  19. Participates in the implementation of cloud systems within the network. 
  20. Analyzes the facilities bandwidth requirements and system inter-dependencies, while developing capacity planning models. 
  21. Responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
  22. Works to fully implement network quality of service (QoS) and VLAN as needed by business units.
  23. Works with multiple WAN network technologies to support non-traditional networks of devices such as network video recorders, cameras, supervisory control and data acquisition(SCADA), Network-Attached Storage (NAS), and other non-traditional network devices all at remote locations.
  24. Prepares LAN project progress reports and other documentation for review by Information Systems Management Team.
  25. Interacts with third-party maintenance vendors on network hardware and assists and coordinates all service calls by such vendors.
  26. Conducts CUA’s disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing, and ensures related plans are kept up to date.
  27. Ensures proper information security processes are in place throughout the credit union. 
  28. Oversees all information security remediation efforts.
  29. Coordinates the implementation and training of information security standards and procedures as set forth in the credit union’s policy manuals.
  30. Ensures information security procedures are kept up to date and reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors on an annual basis.
  31. Engages third party vendors as appropriate to conduct external and internal controls testing and risk assessments and ensures mitigation and correction of vulnerabilities and weaknesses in the credit union’s infrastructure and systems. Serves as liaison for IT components of internal and external audits and regulatory exams.
  32. Reports to the Audit Committee on any IT or IS-related findings.
  33. Oversees the coordination and delivery of network-related training to computer operators in the operation of computers, peripheral equipment and auxiliary equipment.
  34. Ensures processes are in place to identify data processing exceptions and notify appropriate personnel.
  35. Maintains current knowledge of computer technology and suggests new types of equipment or operational methods.
  36. Responsible for backup of vital system components and databases.
  37. Ensures core processing and auxiliary systems are operational including ATM network, phone center, third-party vendors who have access or connectivity to the network, DSS, etc.
  38. Responsible for reporting annually on the activities of network security to the Board of Directors.
  39. Performs the annual IT risk assessment for the credit union, and presents to the Board of Directors.
  40. Conversant in and knowledgeable of NCUA Part 748 and related regulations that govern information security requirements
  41. Oversees and enforces IT vendor management responsibilities for current and potential business partners.
  42. Coordinates various IT projects through third party vendors
  43. Responsible for assigning end users the necessary credentials and instructions for accessing the systems and various programs needed to perform their responsibilities; maintains a log of all assignments; deletes users from the various systems when employment is terminated
  44. Maintains administrative privileges to the various systems and programs utilized by credit union staff
  45. Responsible for overseeing proper maintenance of all technical equipment including hardware and software.
  46. Distributes management reporting procured in the various systems to managers to use in monitoring and analyzing performance. Assist managers with developing simple reports for their use.
  47. Must comply with all federal and state regulations pertaining to OFAC, BSA and FACTA and is responsible for ensuring all staff members are following all guidelines set forth by federal government through management.
  48. Leads special and cross-functional projects/teams as needed.
