Longleaf Hospital is Hiring a RN Nights Near Alexandria, LA

Essential FunctionsProvide and coordinate care of patients by: assessing physical and behavioral health needs; developing, implementing, monitoring outcomes and updating specific/individualized treatment plans with the initial plan upon admission; applying appropriate tailored interventions; observing and reporting responses to treatments and status changes to the physicians and therapists as needed; discussing with the patients their care, while listening to their concerns and assisting their coping abilities for progression towards wellness; assisting patients in addressing their own maintenance of wellness; educating patients and their families on various physical and behavioral health conditions, as well as providing resources to assist their continued treatments upon discharge; and maintaining accurate patients’ medical records for safety in care.
Provide nursing care and services within: the scope of registered nursing practice and the Nurse Practice Act as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing’s standards, regulations, policies, procedures and protocols; facility and corporate policies and procedures.
Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
Ensure patients’ statuses are: assessed on an ongoing basis with pertinent information gathered and documented; regarded with significant changes in status reported to the physicians; for example, but not limited to: detoxing difficulties, medical or behavioral emergencies &/or changes in medical or behavioral statuses, before or in response to medications, etc.
Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care.
Accurately: administer &/or oversee the administration of medications per physicians’ orders; document on required documents accordingly; perform &/or supervise a correct count of controlled substance medications and their administration.
Responsible for completing: admission and discharge processes, efficiently and accurately.
Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful to personal space, giving patients direct attention and maintaining rational detachment.
Communicate therapeutically, professionally and in an effective manner with patients, visitors, coworkers and others involved in patient treatment.
Provide direction or coordinate the activities of the unit as directed.
Other FunctionsPerform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skill RequirementsGraduation from an accredited school of nursing. One year of nursing experience within the clinical area of service preferred, yet provided by the facility.
RN's that have a valid active license who are in the Nurse Recovery Program are considered for employment opportunities at Longleaf Hospital
Licenses/Designations/CertificationsCurrent RN license as required by the State of Louisiana.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
First aid may be required based on state or facility.
