Our growing, industry leading, recession-proof business is looking to add an experienced residential (RE)Construction Superintendent to our Construction Division to help plan and supervise a wide range of residential reconstruction projects from start to finish; ensuring they are completed in a timely and efficient manner, and on budget.
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for multiple tasks ranging from fieldwork and scheduling to paperwork. Reporting directly to a Construction Manager working primarily in the field, but from time to time in our New Albany, IN office. You will be collaborating with other team members in Sales, Mitigation, Construction, and Operations. You will also be collaborating with customers, vendors and sub-contractors to ensure the successful execution and achievement of company objectives and goals, while promoting a positive attitude with other employees, vendors and sub-contractors, and homeowners.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Before Project Begins - Walking a project with estimator, construction manager, and customer to ensure scope of work to be performed is completely understood and accurate
  • Establishing an accurate and realistic project timeline
  • Ordering needed materials and scheduling the sub-contractors to perform required work
  • Obtaining all necessary building permits
  • Visiting jobsites daily to ensure quality expectations and timelines are being met by subs and vendors
  • Communicating daily with the customer, construction manager, sub-contractors, and office team with progress updates
  • Ensuring all OSHA and other safety requirements are being met on every job 
  • As needed - communicating with building inspectors, insurance adjusters, and other project stakeholders 
  • Collecting of draw payments as the project progresses
  • Turning in receipts daily and obtaining PO numbers as needed to ensure accurate job costing 
  • Ensuring all projects are brought to a successful conclusion with a final walk-thru and ensuring customer is completely satisfied with work performed.
  • Handle any post-construction customer service/warranty issues
Must possess at least 3-4 years of construction project management experience as well as be proficient in details and time-management skills. Attention to detail, paperwork and communication is key. The job will entail visiting jobsites as well as working in the office with other office personnel in assuring that open projects are kept on schedule and on budget.
Qualifications:
  • Construction Project Management: 3 years (Required)
  • Ability to read and understand a job scope and blueprints (Required)
  • Strong understanding of building and construction standards and requirements (Required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Required)
  • Ability to learn and use technology (Required)
  • US work authorization (Required)
  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Driver's License & clean driving record (Required)
