This role requires a blend of technical expertise, managerial skills, and strategic thinking to effectively safeguard County systems against cyber threats. Working in partnership with the Network Operations Manager to architect network security solutions and develop policies. The IT Cyber Security Manager will focus on enterprise firewalls, anti-malware and various security applications. This position will require an expert knowledge of wireless networking, virtual environments, server hardware, datacenter technology and Microsoft domain infrastructure.
Range posted is hiring range for position. Salary offered will be based on skill set and experience level.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Education: BS in Computer Science or in a related IT discipline, or a relevant field required from an accredited college or university. Four or more years of relevant progressive technical experience preferably within the public sector. Three or more years of relevant leadership experience. Prefer CCNA (minimum) and CCNP certifications. Equivalent combination of experience and training may be substituted.
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint Experience), Prior experience with "next gen" layer 7 firewalls, knowledge and familiarity with virtual environments and data center technologies. Prior experience with routing, switching and wireless networking.
License/Credentials: Possession of a valid NC driver’s license
