Cobblestone Golf Course, located in Acworth, Georgia, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, is hiring for a Head Golf Professional.

Cobblestone is one of the most successful municipal courses in the United States. This Ken Dye design offers fantastic Champion Bermuda greens, white sand bunkers, and 12 holes playing along Lake Allatoona.

Cobblestone has numerous accolades, including a Four Star rating by Golf Digest, a spot on the Top 100 Courses You Can Play by Golf Magazine, and Best Municipal Courses in The US by Golfweek.

Primary responsibilities of the Head Golf Professional at Cobblestone Golf Course include :

• Assists in the preparation of the club’s annual golf budget and financials.
• Holds all golf department associates accountable for reaching their monthly and annual financial goals.
• Has the ability to complete an accurate inventory count each month and has a firm understanding of cost of goods sold.
• Operates the golf department within the budgeted payroll and adjusts it as sales increase or decrease.
• Holds a monthly golf staff meeting that covers training, customer service, progress since the prior month, and basic financials that can pertain to the entire department.
• Plans, promotes, and directs all golf activities.
• Ensures all members and guests receive the highest level of service.
• Manages the sale, operation, billing, and collection of all golf tournaments.
• Orders merchandise for the golf shop, providing the best selection possible within the constraints of inventory and ensuring the shop makes at least a 30% profit.
• Develops merchandise sales and promotions during holidays, specials events, and times when sales are slow.
• Provides golf lessons to all members and guests, overseeing the instruction program at the club.
• Meets with the golf course superintendent as needed regarding playability and course conditioning issues.
• Works directly with the club’s golf committee to maximize communication and execution of their priorities.
• Hires and trains all golf personnel.
• Follows all State, Federal, and Bobby Jones Links rules regarding human resources including such key policies as hiring and firing, discrimination, and harassment.
• Ensures all I-9 paperwork, e-verify, and onboarding is completed within three days of an associate’s hire date.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and club point of sales systems.
• Understanding of Club financials.
• Must have a thorough working knowledge of the club’s golf operation.

• Walk and or stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and to lift overhead and push / pull, move lighter objects.

• Be exposed to outside weather conditions including temperatures over 90 and below 40 degrees.
