ARS Treatment Centers specialize in outpatient treatment for those suffering from opioid use disorder. Our clinic is one of ten locations in the mid-Atlantic region that provides specialized outpatient medication-assisted treatment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 5a-1:30p, Saturdays as needed - flexible after 90 days (6a-2p or 7a-3p)

Position Description:

As Clinical Director you will be leading a team of passionate clinical, medical, and administrative professionals to address the opioid epidemic in our communities. The Clinical Director is responsible for providing oversight, management, and support to ensure efficient and effective daily operations, adherence to state and federal regulations, ARS policies and accreditation standards related to patient care, staffing, maintenance of facility, safety, clinical, medical, risk management, financial, community relations and other duties assigned. As an Clinical Director, you will participate in development and execution of the corporate strategic plan and act as the primary source of communication between the Senior Leadership Team, The Board and your team. The Clinical Director will adhere to the vision and mission of the Company and ensure the staff does the same. This position is responsible for supervising the Clinicians, Office Manager and providing administrative supervision to the Director of Nursing and provider.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a positive work environment and culture that empowers staff and patients.
  • Supervise the management team composed of the director of nursing, clinical supervisor, and office manager. Conduct formal supervision with each member of the management team monthly.
  • Builds a team of qualified and engaged professionals by recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding new staff.
  • Ensure all new staff receive a competency-based orientation to ensure they have the knowledge skills and abilities to be successful in their role and complete all duties as assigned. Identify staff training needs, organize and/or conduct in-person training as necessary in conjunction with ARS training requirements.
  • Provide clear and kind feedback to staff regarding their performance on a regular basis, complete formal annual performance review of all direct reports and ensure all staff receive routine feedback and formal annual performance review.
  • Work with the Director of Human Resources to develop and administer performance improvement plans (PIPs) and progressive discipline as needed.
  • Provides new hire orientation for Counselors. Prepares annual training plans for each Counselor. Conducts quarterly in-house training for clinical staff.
  • Supervises Counselors to assure timely completion of work and adherence to program policies and procedures.
  • Provides weekly, biweekly or monthly clinical supervision through documentation of assessment of professional competencies, clinical skills and recommendations through weekly meetings and direct and periodic observation. Review all documentation developed by Counselor II (Counselor Intern / Counselor Assistant) for accuracy and clinical appropriateness.
  • Assigns emergency on call rotation and assures successful completion. Completes monthly schedules for groups, admissions, weekend rotation and holidays.
  • Completes annual employee reviews for Counselors and Counselor II (Counselor Intern / Counselor Assistant). Completes quarterly reports for supervision, training, compliance, discharges and admissions.
  • Assigns new patients to Counselor caseloads and monitors ratio for state compliance. Addresses Counselor change requests, complaints and participates in fair hearings.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in a Human Services Administration with a focus on substance abuse counseling
  • Minimum of three years of Clinical Supervision experience, preferable in a substance abuse environment; one year of which must be directly related to substance abuse treatment.
  • Approved Supervisor Letter from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors to supervise ADT,CSC, CAC
  • Must maintain Maryland State criteria for supervising counselors, trainees and interns.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory/ management in the human services.
  • Familiar with State Regulations (COMAR)
  • Must be certified or licensed with State of Maryland.
  • Must have one of the following:
    • LCPC - Licensed Professional Counselor
    • LCADC - Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor
    • LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker
    • CAC-AD- Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug
  • Ability to make independent decisions when needed
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Successful completion of State required background check and required training.
