Our client is seeking a Piping Engineer this position reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for supporting and leading piping engineering activities related to the Gum Springs Incineration project from Owner's perspective.
The position is based in Gum Springs, Arkansas construction site which is approximately 50 miles west of Little Rock, Arkansas. The piping engineer will be expected to be onsite and interface with other members of the project team including the package engineers who will support on a consultant basis. The mechanical engineer will work with the project team to address ongoing design issues and to ensure successful completion and startup of the project.
Who we are looking for / Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
15 plus years of experience in an EPC environment for large capital projects in an oil/gas, chemical or hazardous design and construction projects
Must have previously worked as lead piping engineer for at least 5 plus years
Strong engineering background in process/mechanical piping in an EPC environment (not for Owner) building large plant (Oil/Gas, Chemical, Hazardous Waste Plants etc.)
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Strong project engineering management skills (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing).
Possess broad knowledge of multiple processes and/or engineering disciplines, augmented with good experience and seasoning, to the point where they can address the most complex piping engineering issues
Ability to work effectively with various cross functional teams
Excellent analytical, organizational, computer and interpersonal skills.
What you will do / Responsibilities:
Review piping isometrics
Work with Piping Inspector to quality and perform surveillance of pipe fab shops
Oversee inspection of piping received on site performed by the Piping inspector
Manage engineering response to Piping RFIs and any design change submittals
Coordinate Piping construction punch lists and QA documentation with Piping Construction superintendent and QA inspector
Provide Piping design input on all change orders and small plant projects
Manages 3D model and updates as needed working with Insource
Perform pipe stress analysis as needed
Support Commissioning Engineer in development and execution of Commissioning Plan
Assist in developing hydro testing plan
