The City Beer Hall is an American craft beer hall and gastropub in downtown Albany and is currently accepting resumes for experienced, energetic, and responsible bartenders looking to join a dedicated, fun and knowledgable staff and grow with this expanding company. The City Beer Hall has a heavy focus on craft beer, Chef inspired seasonal cuisine and high service standards with a great atmosphere for creativity and uniqueness.
Job summary:
The Bartender will be responsible for serving patrons at our main bar and fulfilling drink orders for the dining room and patio, maintaining proper inventory, monitoring the cash drawer at the bar during service and providing quick but detailed food and drink service in a friendly professional manner.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver a consistently high level of customer service and be able to mitigate and resolve any issue with an unhappy guest.
- Maintain a safe environment by identifying problem guests and inform security or management.
- Keep bar area clean in accordance with the company's guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department
- Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the night and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally.
- Mix all drinks and pour draft beer based on the serving sizes as outlined in training to keep drink costs at a minimum.
- Develop a clean and efficient work space that keeps the guests at the bar and in the dining room satisfied at all times.
- Make responsible decisions with the companies interest in mind when serving guests and accounting for all products served.
- Communicate effectively with other staff and management in a professional manner.
Skills and qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required
- 2 years experience working as a bartender in high volume atmosphere.
- Tips certification (serve safe or equivalent) required (can be acquired on the job)
- Level one Cicerone required (can be acquired on the job)
- Must be able to lift 20 pound boxes and stand for a 10-hour shift
- Knowledge of POS systems and software required
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills required
- Proficient in excel, word, and email on Mac computers.
