Summary:

This position ensures a clean and well-maintained store by supervising and participating in maintenance and cleaning of the building. The emphasis in this position is organizing and directing maintenance tasks to ensure consistently clean, neat and safe store conditions for customers and employees. Primary challenge is coordinating interdepartmental needs. The position requires good judgement and decision making as well as social skills. Position functions and wok hours may vary according to business needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures safe and clean store conditions

-Walks store every hour evaluating needs and performing clean ups

-Delegates and supervises work of other maintenance associates

-Signs sweep logs when necessary

-Ensures associates use PPE as required

Orders and maintains supplies for Maintenance Department

-Contacts other departments for their chemical needs

-Ensures all needed supplies are available for cleaning and maintenance, keeping proper inventory control

Monitors maintenance associates’ effectiveness and productivity

-Effectively communicates with associates about department priorities and objectives

-Supervises production and schedules associates

-Provides training for new associates and ongoing training for existing associates

-Conducts performance reviews and disciplinary procedures

Communicates and works with Store Manager and HRS as appropriate to above functions

Ensures all repairs are completed either in store or with outside help

Conducts any necessary cart work, floor work, cardboard and trash work

Assists customers

-Answers questions or assists customers with product location

-Refers customers to the proper area or individual for help

-Assists customers with bagging and carrying out groceries
