- Sets up and performs progressive machining on various types of machine tools to close tolerances, requiring care in tool setting and selection of machining methods.
- Sets up and operates conventional lathes of various sizes, ranging from light to heavy duty.
- Sets up and operates conventional horizontal and vertical milling machines.
- Sets up and operates standard machine shop/toolroom surface grinders and pedestal grinders.
- Sets up and operates standard machine shop/toolroom support equipment including belt sanders, drill presses, and sandblasters.
- Works on semi-production and production jobs requiring the manufacturing of multiple pieces.
- Takes measurements and marks material for cutting or shaping.
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
- Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience working with lathes.
- Ability to read blueprints and set-up own work.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and results oriented.
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
- Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.
