Job Description

Schedule : Monday - Friday 9 am to 5 pm

Salary : $43,000 / year

Sign On Bonus : $2,000; $1000 upon completion of 30 days, $1000 upon completion of 6 months

The Community Employment Specialist conducts the full range of CIES services (Competitive Integrated Employment Service) including career planning, job search skills, job placement and retention services, and job and career coaching for people with disabilities.

The Community Employment Specialist utilizes a strengths-based approach when partnering with consumers by recognizing each person's skills, experiences, and values that support employment, incorporated with the belief that people learn from their experiences, develop new skills, and achieve life goals over time.

The Community Employment Specialist works independently and collaboratively with a consumer's Integrated Resource Team (IRT) consisting of the MRC Specialized Vocational Counselor, Mental Health Outreach Team, and others to support successful employment outcomes.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's in human services preferred.
• Experience in employment and training, human resources, counseling, marketing or vocational rehabilitation programs preferred.
• Experienced direct care staff preferred.
• Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport .
• Preference given to bilingual / bicultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric onditions.
• Must be able to successfully pass a multistate CORI, driving record, reference check, employment verification, and education background checks.
