Duration : Will be extended every year. Long term goal is to covert to Fulltime
LQA stands for Language QA. Subset of the localization team or otherwise known as L10N . Service team that translates everything that eBay offer UI to Health marketing content gets translated. After translation is complete, there is a need that the translated characters appears correctly on the website. SO that's where language QA comes into play. Idea behind LQA is that we are looking for issues caused through translation that might be expansion of the translated content or overlapping of the content. Some characters might be displayed incorrectly and they might be basic grammar and spelling issues. So, the LQA role is to correct those issues. If there are functional issues, we report them back to developers, ensuring the quality user experience to the in country users of eBay and native.
Team : internal team has 30 people. LQA team has 3 different departments. Have the actual linguistic teams, development team and the actual the LQA lead and the developers who are creating the bills and the testers who are looking at the issues. These LQA lead role is to sit in between these 2 roles. Job is to take the original steps to recreate the US pages and recreate the pages to all the International locals. Use automated steps to recreate all the translated pages. This individual is needed to work individual and hit the ground running. There are some ramp up required because they use some proprietary tools that are home grown.
Qualifications : 7yrs of experience.
Must haves: Can lead the team when the manager is not available. There is a product manager who takes care of the meetings. Need someone who has experience as a leader. Needs to take over the Product manager when he is not there. Should have the technicalities to interact with the developers. Needs to have some technical background and able to communicate. Should be a very good collaborators.
LQA leads handle around 60 projects a week, 5/6 a day.
Education : Proven Technical background.
Interview : 1 st round will be telephonic round. Onsite interview 4hours-meeting all the decision makers and team members
Mobile Automation experience : Native experience can be trained. No ppium experience needed. Hands on experience with Javascript and Python is needed.
Leadership experience : 1yr
Red flags : able to communicate and not able to collaborate.

Job Title: Senior Localization Quality Assurance (LQA) Lead (Contract)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior LQA Lead to join our Localization team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading multiple localization quality assurance projects, ensuring the highest quality of localized content for our diverse customer base. This role requires a blend of technical and interpersonal skills, a passion for quality, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Mentor and coach LQA Leads, fostering their professional growth and development in quality assurance practices.
Lead and run multiple LQA projects, prioritizing tasks and managing interdependencies.
Plan and be responsible for the execution of LQA projects, from small to large-scale initiatives. Provide oversight of active team projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and automation specialists, to define testing requirements and execute test plans.
Work closely with external test vendors to communicate requirements and assess performance.
Provide regular updates to management, highlighting any issues or risks.
Analyze metrics to identify areas needing additional testing and create detailed quality reports.
Use JIRA for tracking LQA activities and progress.
Triage and follow up on bugs, ensuring resolution.
Participate in cross-domain meetings and initiatives as a representative of the LQA or L10n team.
Suggest and implement improvements to LQA processes and tools.
Chip in to sprint planning and product backlog maintenance, occasionally assuming scrum master responsibilities.
Develop and maintain documentation for features and tasks.
Train and support other LQA Leads as necessary.
Job Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proven ability to work independently and efficiently, managing multiple priorities.
Strong collaboration skills and experience working with cross-company teams.
A proactive approach to independent problem-solving and project management.
Experience with multilingual projects and familiarity with localization standards.
Knowledge of software development cycles and scheduling flexibility for international collaboration.
Experience with CAT tools (XTM preferred) and multilingual proficiency is advantageous.
Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment, supporting internal and external customers.
Experience working on multi-language projects in an Agile environment.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in QE/QA/LQA roles.
Proficiency in testing web and mobile applications.
Experience with Selenium, JavaScript, Python, and scripting automation tasks.
Proficient in using JIRA and GitHub for project management and version control.
Experience with Automation frameworks (eg. BrowserStack, Appium) is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
