The Utech Group – Organizational Development Consultant

The Utech Group is looking to hire an Organizational Development Consultant to join our growing team. The Utech Consultant is responsible for working with organizations and clients in the areas of business transition, leadership and team development and training, and culture and strategy implementation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to understand the big picture and develop strategies to drive new business with new and/or existing clients
  • Identify key decision makers and influencers within the client’s organization
  • Understand the client’s strategic plans and how The Utech Group can help to drive value
  • Utilizes assessments of individuals and situations, to build rapport and trusting relationships with clients, while pushing for change
  • Lives out The Utech Group’s values and mission, with conviction, with our internal team and with our clients
  • Coach and mentor leaders within the organizations we work and partner with, to improve their experience, to drive change in their organization and to improve their overall business performance
  • Facilitate and lead small and large group trainings
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to challenge the status quo, in a positive and constructive manner, using concepts of continuous improvement and change management
  • Intervenes in difficult situation with courage
  • Takes risks to challenge clients, while caring about them in the process
  • Works cross-functionally
  • Connects and relates with all people, at all levels of the organization, both, internally and with clients; this requires an ability to adapt to the situation and to the different learning and communication styles of the people around you
  • Interprets a variety of leadership assessments, to help clients gain self-awareness
  • Utilize leadership assessments to tell the story of the client, beyond his/her behaviors and use within teams to build the team and strengthen leader-to-leader interactions
  • Be open about your own growth and development needs
  • Acts in a reliable and responsible manner, recognizing personal strengths, improvement areas and limitations
  • Attend industry events and networking functions, association events and conferences, to network and to better understand the markets and trends and to leverage The Utech Group’s capabilities
  • Willingness to learn new ideas and concepts that push our clients

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development or related field preferred; MBA or master’s degree in a related field is not required but a bonus
  • Proven ability to identify and initiate team and leadership development strategies, for individuals and teams
  • Proven ability to lead individuals and teams through a change management process
  • Experience with administering and debriefing leadership assessments

  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to guide others toward professional growth and development
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Facilitate individual and team development sessions

  • Experience with or open to learning dictation
  • Able to write reports, Executive Summaries and Organizational Assessments
  • Talent for identifying and analyzing trends, in qualitative and quantitative feedback
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Teams and dictation software
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to identify development needs and move people to action
  • Willingness to intervene in difficult situations

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

  • Ability to frequently stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone and keyboard
  • Close visual acuity and ability to speak and hear, are required
  • Occasionally reach, stoop and kneel
  • Work is generally performed in an office setting; desk/cubicle/office with chair, computer and phone
  • Occasionally lift 10-lbs., rarely push/pull up to 25-lbs. and rarely move a maximum of 50-lbs.
  • Evening and/or weekend work; extended hours and irregular shifts may be required
  • High level of mental concentration is required
