The Deputy CIO at ESD is a transformative leadership role that stands at the forefront of technological innovation and strategic vision. This esteemed position is not merely a job; it is a calling for those who are deeply committed to steering the agency’s technological destiny. As the steward of our technology roadmap, you will guide a dedicated team of over 200 IT professionals, orchestrating the symphony of daily operations. This position involves strategic planning, fostering a culture of collaboration, and ensuring the alignment of IT services with the agency’s mission and priorities.You will be instrumental in influencing policy, shaping the agency’s strategic direction, and fostering an environment that is agile to change. You will also engage in customer relationship management, budget oversight, and the continuous improvement of IT processes to achieve operational excellence and support the agency’s strategic objectives. This role is a bastion of independent action, a crucible of information synthesis, and a pinnacle of accountable decision-making. Join us and lead the charge in shaping the future of ESD!Some of your duties may include: Strategic Leadership: Develop and maintain the agency’s technology roadmap, aligning operations with strategic plans.Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of ITSD, ensuring successful maintenance and operation of technology assets.Team Leadership: Manage six (6) professional staff responsible for strategic, security, and operational work.Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary specialist ensuring services meet service level agreements.Policy Development: Have authority to approve new or modified technology procedures and policies.Budget Oversight: Monitor development of an investment strategy and ongoing budget planning. Decision Making: Independently approve changes to the agency’s technology roadmap and procurements up to $1,000,000.Vendor Management: Act as an executive for escalation of vendor issues, ensuring alignment to divisional and agency priorities.Human-Centered Staff Development: Hire, develop, and retain a highly productive workforce, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Innovation and Adaptation: Stay current with emerging technologies and adapt them to business strategies.
