The St. Joe Company is Hiring a Content and Social Media Manager Near Panama, FL

Job Summary

The primary responsibility for the Content and Social Media Manager is to develop and execute a comprehensive content strategy for The St. Joe Company and its many operating assets. In addition to social media content, the scope of this role includes managing the creation and deployment of marketing content across the company’s many owned media channels such as website blogs, email marketing content and a biannual magazine among others. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: full social media management for several properties, third-party vendor solicitation and management, supporting the marketing initiatives of the company and its properties and projects through content that aligns with company goals and brand standards. Candidate will work closely with other members of the marketing department and associates throughout the organization to support the mission and goals of the company. This position will interface with several internal departments such as operations, development, membership sales, food and beverage, lodging, reservations and others as well as business and community partners.


Primary Responsibilities


Essential Functions


Strategy and Development

Develop and execute a content strategy for all St. Joe assets and projects inclusive of:

  • Social media accounts for 20 company assets and properties
  • On property photo and video asset gathering
  • Content creation for company websites, blogs, email marketing campaigns, company magazine, etc.
  • Selection and management of third-party vendors for outsourced services such as copywriting, social media support and content gathering/production as needed
  • Vet and manage potential social media influencer opportunities


Social Media

  • Create and share relevant content across all social media channels
  • Interact with users, respond to direct messages, monitor engagement on an ongoing basis
  • Deploy tactics to grow social media audiences
  • Disseminate social media content that supports overall marketing and communications strategy and other department/company philosophies

Magazine Production

  • Work with third-party publishing partner to manage the production of “Watersound Lifestyle,” the company’s biannual club member magazine
  • Tasks include editorial outline management, writing/photography assignments, photo selection, production schedule management and collaboration with internal departments


Marketing and Branding

  • As a member of the marketing department, the Content and Social Media Manager will be responsible for aligning content for each of the company’s projects and properties with its overall marketing goals and business objectives
  • Ensure that all consumer-facing content adheres to brand standards and tone of voice of The St. Joe Company and all projects and properties
  • Working with key stakeholders, develop and execute a content plan for the St. Joe Company and its various properties and operating assets.
  • Collaborate with members of the marketing team to deliver a clear and unified marketing message in all consumer-facing content.
  • Manage (both individually and via third party vendors) St. Joe’s various social media accounts to include: posting, interacting with users, replying to messages, social listening, metrics reporting, etc.
  • Plan and execute a plan to grow the company’s social media audiences.
  • Identify third-party vendors to support an effective content strategy.
  • Assist with photo and video shoots as needed.
  • Contribute to brochures and other printed collateral as needed.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field preferred, may substitute experience.
  • Experience managing several social media accounts at once.
  • 5 years of marketing related experience with a track record of
    success and increasing responsibility preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills to include oral, written and public speaking are required, as is the ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of all relevant social media platforms and trends.
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented environment and develop consensus to effectively motivate timely action and excellent outcomes within finite time and financial parameters will be the measures of success for the appropriate candidate.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access), and Adobe products are a necessity.
  • Knowledge of Meta Business Suite and Facebook Ads Manager functionality and best practices.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to operate normal office equipment.
  • Extensive use of a computer.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours).
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.


Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment, with frequent local travel to company assets throughout Northwest Florida.
