Funding Analyst

Organization Type: Non-Profit, Faith-Based, 100 Employees

Position Type: Part-Time

Department: Operations

Reports to: Data and Funding Manager

Hours: 24 hours per week; Tuesday - Friday 9am - 3 pm

Location: Administrative Office (Remote option Wednesdays)

Position Summary: The Funding Analyst provides leadership and excellent service to support Wellspring Living external funding and grant-related accounting, compliance, and activities.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

External Funding and Grant-related Accounting

● Record incoming DFCS payments for Finance team to reconcile revenue to invoices

● Prepare and send invoices monthly to CACGA, DFCS, and DJJ for Wellspring Living youth programs

● Actively manage all grant-related accounting activities, collaborating with internal and external members of the Grants team and Data Manager to ensure deliverables and goals are met

● Manage workload effectively to ensure all deadlines are met

● Actively support reporting requirements related to grants and other funding sources

● Support Financial Team in ensuring all state and federal laws and regulations regarding accounting practices are closely followed and continuously executed

● Adhere to all relevant guidelines and government regulations related to accounting and finance reporting practices, and promote compliance across the organization

● Actively seek out creative ways to utilize accounting systems in a more efficient and effective manner

● Leverage technology through expertise in accounting systems and related organizational systems or processes

● Collaborate with Grants team and program leadership to create and amend budgets

● Coordinate with program staff to manage housing and utilities assistance awards

Compliance and Recordkeeping

● Oversee compliance with federal and state government grants, such as OVC and VOCA in conjunction with Data Manager

● Maintain grant-funded salary tracker

● Collect compliance-related timesheets

● Maintain non-salary budget trackers for new and existing grants

Healthy Living

● Develop intentional connections with staff members

● Lead by example in modeling the characteristics of a Mission Driven Professional

● Provide direction and encouragement to staff

● Model healthy boundaries to staff

Professional Qualifications:

● Comprehensive knowledge of office procedures and data processing codes and systems; familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

● High proficiency with relevant technologies including Google Drive suite, Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), and QuickBooks Online, SAGE, Bill.com

● Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of working with or around children and vulnerable populations

● Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the area of accounting, business, or a related field

● Minimum two years of related experience, preferably in a nonprofit or service setting

Position Requirements:

● Minimal travel to Wellspring Living locations and events throughout the metro Atlanta area

● Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds and work for long periods at a computer

● Satisfactory criminal history background check

● Clean Motor Vehicle Record
