Prestage Farms is Hiring an Export Clerk Near Eagle, IA
Responsibilities:
Export Documentation
- Prepare and manage all required export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping instructions, and bills of lading as country by country and customer requirement dictate
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to comply with international regulations and FSIS requirements
- Track and monitor daily/weekly shipments to ensure timely documentation needs and resolution of details and help coordinate the scheduling of the expectations from staging to presentation to the FSIS inspectors, preapprovals and document distribution
- Stay updated on export library and FSIS procedures to ensure adherence during the export process
- Complete and submit customs declarations and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Act as a point of contact between various internal departments (production, sales, shipping) and external stakeholders (freight suppliers, FSIS authorities, shipping department)
- Communicate shipment details, delivery schedules, and any potential disruptions to relevant parties
- - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in international trade or logistics is a plus
- - Proven experience (usually 1-3 years) in a similar role, preferably in an export-focused environment
- - Familiarity with international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance
- - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing documentation
- - Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple shipments simultaneously
- - Effective communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external partners
- - Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and possibly specialized logistics software
- - Problem-solving abilities to address unexpected issues and ensure the smooth flow of export processes
