Title: Marketing and Events Coordinator
Status: Part-time, non-exempt
Hours: M-F, Hybrid
Pay Rate: $18-20/hour
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Marketing and Events Coordinator reports to the JA President. This is a part-time hourly position that requires periodic evening and weekend work. The Marketing and Events Coordinator assists with the planning and implementing development-focused initiatives aimed at expanding awareness, engaging the public, attracting new audiences, raising funds, developing marketing for events and programs, and increasing overall profit contribution throughout the organization.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinate and execute all logistics surrounding all JA fundraising events
· Secure all event sponsorships by arranging meetings with potential donors, cultivating relationships, and stewarding donors and organizations
· Prepare post-event analysis, assess opportunities, and make recommendations for improvements
· Maintain all of JA’s social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn) and official organizational website by creating innovative content that engages audiences and expands awareness
· Manage project and event budgets while tracking in-kind donations and sponsorship revenue using a CRM system
· Initiate and maintain ongoing relationships with local media outlets to increase credibility and image of JA
· Write all PSA and press release content needed throughout the year including those for grants received, fundraising milestones, program-related events, and other related organization accomplishments
· Coordinate annual partner allocation meetings for the largest organization partners
· Organize all media interviews and visits for all events, programs, etc.
· Work closely with JA staff and board members, including co-chairing the Events Committee
SKILLS REQUIRED
· Basic knowledge and passion for Junior Achievement and its mission
· Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, PR, event planning, nonprofit, development, or related field
· Experience working with platforms such as Canva, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
· Proficiency with various social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
· Proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, multitask, and meet deadlines
· Keen eye for graphic design, attention to detail, and creativity
· Strong analytical and communication skills
· Unparalleled writing and editing skills
· Ability to work in a team environment and exhibit self-motivation
· Ability to lift 20 lbs. (boxes, kits, event supplies, etc.)
