About Us:
Located in East Boston, St. Mary’s Center for Women and Children supports 500 mothers, fathers, and children annually with shelter, clinical and educational services, job training, employment readiness, and search for permanent housing. St. Mary’s Center has expanded and adapted to meet community needs and is now one of the largest family shelter programs in Massachusetts supporting families experiencing homelessness with shelter, transitional and permanent housing, food, basic needs assistance, and critical wrap-around supports.
Grounded in social justice, St. Mary’s Center empowers families to achieve emotional stability and economic independence through education, workforce development, and permanent housing.
Shifts Available:
-Full-Time: Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm
- Part-Time Sat & Sun 7am-3pm
Your Role:
The Family Partner provides a safe living environment for all families in residential programs while ensuring the delivery of supportive services. Services include life skills training, education and employment support, advocacy, parenting support, and assistance with Case Management as needed.
While respecting and understanding families’ needs, Family Partners use basic counseling skills of active listening, empathy, reflection, and validation to assist families in working on their goals. The Family Partner builds strong relationships and establishes positive communication with families as well as orients new families to program services, rules, and procedures.
Requirements:
· Work onsite at our East Boston Location: East Boston 56 Harve St, East Boston MA 02128
· Valid Driver’s license
· Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of hire.
· Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds as well as sit and stand for extended periods.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $19.25 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
