Miss Croix Yacht Harbor is a small marina (140 slips) at the confluence of the great Mississippi and the beautiful St. Croix rivers. Our marina has been around for a long time and the current member owned association was formed in 1999. We are a family which cares for and takes care of each other. Our small staff of 4 full time people is seeking an experienced and motivated marine technician with a positive and professional attitude to join the team. Work will be at the marina in Prescott WI.

Our marine technician’s do it all from troubleshooting and repairs on boats to maintaining dock infrastructure and yard equipment. We invest in our people and offer a generous annual bonus program based on team results and annual industry leading training at manufacture training facilities.

We are looking for a marine technician who has the skills to rebuild an engine with limited supervision but also wants to work on other boat mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and water systems on vessels up to 70’. We are looking for someone with:

· 3 years’ experience or more working on cars or boats.

· Positive attitude, self-motivated and takes pride in their work

· Works well with minimum supervision, alone or with a small close knit team

· Clearly documents time, work completed, and hours.

Day to day marine technician activities varies widely but mainly includes:

· Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems.

· Document inspection and test results and work performed or to be performed.

· Operate boats on waterways to conduct operational tests.

· Repair defective engines or engine components.

· Perform routine engine maintenance such as changing oil and filters.

· Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.

· Adjust boat components according to specifications to ensure optimal performance.

· Proficient in the use of computer diagnostic tools

· Proficient in the installation and repair of vessels AC /DC electrical systems

· Troubleshoot and repair onboard fresh and waste water systems

· Willingness to take classes or courses as needed to advance your knowledge and training.

· Install new accessory equipment: electronics, windlasses, swim platforms, etc.

· Install engines, transmissions, generators

· Design and install marine air conditioning systems.

· Prepare and apply epoxy coatings (waterproofing) on boat bottoms

· Prepare and apply bottom paint.

· Participate in spring launch/ summarizing and fall haul out and winterizing activities

You will be asked to participate in many of these activities and become proficient in some over time. Training from specific manufacturers is available, paid for and encouraged.

• Have own tools
• Have valid driver’s license
• Be able to lift 80lbs or more on occasion

Miss Croix Marine Technicians receive competitive hourly pay, paid holidays, paid vacation, annual performance based bonus and health coverage

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
