Anchorage Surgical & Bariatrics is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Anchorage, AK

Anchorage Surgical & Bariatrics is a small practice in Anchorage, AK. We are a creative, supportive, and patient oriented office whose goal is to provide Alaskans with exceptional, compassionate, and individualized medical care.

Responsibilities:

- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar

- Rooming patients and collecting basic vitals
- Chaperoning patient exams as needed
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays/payments
- Maintain patient records and update medical information as necessary
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist with incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry

Qualifications:

- Proficient in using phone systems and handling multiple phone lines
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Outlook

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

- Previous experience working in a medical office or similar setting is preferred
- Familiarity with EPIC preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws preferred

You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service and ensuring the smooth operation of the medical office. If you are a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
