MISSION OF BBND:

Broken But Not Destroyed Corp. is a non-profit organization that strives to provide the highest quality of shelter services to homeless women, men and children.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance and direction of the Executive Director the Program Director is responsible for the overall management and development of programs, staff, and homeless clients at the FWC Sanctuary Site. The Program Director will provide operational oversight for the shelter manage the day-to-day programs by providing leadership, direction and ensure compliance with all procedures required by federal, state (OTDA) and local regulations including the Department of Social Services (DHS)). Develop and implement systems and programs for homeless client’s reintegration back into society.

Program & Office Management: (50%)

  • Direct the development of planning, evaluation, and implementation of procedures in support of the whole program at the shelter.
  • Act as liaison between BBND and federal or regulatory agencies such as DHS ensuring that all relevant documentation required are submitted before time and relevant follow-up/actions are done
  • Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct a quarterly evaluation to assess risk, mitigate same and devise appropriate actions to minimize or control risk.
  • Report on findings from evaluations done to the Executive Director and recommend changes to enhance the programs offered to homeless clients.
  • Assist with the recruitment, interview and selection of appropriate R/A and Site Supervisors staff and interns in consultation with the Directors
  • Oversee the supervision of client care staff and assist director with ensuring yearly evaluations for all are completed
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and relevant orientation, training and direction to client care staff including but not limited to training in BBND procedures and familiarization with the BBND Manual
  • Creation and implementation of BBND Manual
  • Lead program and client care staff to ensure that homeless clients receive services that are of the highest quality.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance Reviews to ensure all the files of homeless client are following the required regulations and recommend any follow-up action were non-compliant.
  • Maintain and update knowledge through required and voluntary conferences, seminars, in-service trainings, and supervisory meetings as determined in consultation with Directors
  • Oversee staff training and create training for staff.
  • Ensure staff has all qualification
  • Create staff scheduling, manage time sheets and submit time sheets for payroll
  • Create, enforce, and maintain workflow for all staff members.

Management of Client Service (50%)

· General Management shelter including staff, clients and housing criteria

· Create and implement new training and vocational programs for client’s needs

· Responsible for updating CARES on client’s job referral and housing daily

· Responsible for updating client issues in Cares and advising Director

· Manage and oversee the daily operations of all the shelter’s needs

· Manage client’s intake and discharge procedures

· Maintain precise and accurate documentation of case management services, including client files and entries into Cares

· Set and observe appropriate boundaries with clients; observe client confidentiality and follow protocols

· Assist families and individuals with establishing and meeting housing goals and identifying appropriate steps towards achieving goals, including modifying goals as needed, and evaluation of progress

· Assist with volunteer-led activities, determining program participant eligibility, and administering surveys or follow up with program participants

· Conducting research, assembling data, prepare and distribute presentations, reports, correspondence and other documents

· Create and distribute promotional materials outlining the program’s services

· Maintain and promote the cooperative, harmonious, teamwork environment that BBND Corporation strives to promote within the workplace

· Maintain and promote an atmosphere of dignity and respect in line with the philosophy and policies of BBND Corporation

· Responsible to ensure that all staff issues are reported to director

· Work closely and liaise with all staff at all times

· On call availability via company provided phone

· Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Social Work with minor in management or business administration
  • Extensive Experience developing and coordinating programs for homeless
  • Experience providing social interventions for the homeless
  • Over five (5) years’ experience in office management, human resource and counseling
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience
  • Experience using applications to track the management of client’s cases
  • Experience working with the homeless population preferred
  • Experience in customer service preferred

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Ability to work with people of diverse social backgrounds and professional rank.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to self-motivate and manage well.
  • Strong written/oral communication and people skills including supervisory experience.
  • High level of flexibility and ability to prioritize appropriately.
  • Ability to present oneself and the agency professionally to internal and external audiences, work under pressure, address multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, show respect to clients (be friendly but not familiar).
  • Experience conducting trainings, outreach, and presentations.
  • Computer literate – experience with MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, creating publications, and using internet.
