The Facility Director is a live-in position at a sorority house on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Compensation includes room, board, parking, utilities, and a monthly stipend for part-time work. The Facility Director supervises the work of contracted cooks and housekeepers, and student kitchen cleanup employees. The Facility Director will be responsible for the management of all facility staff and contractors; coordination of all facility management including inspections, regular maintenance, housekeeping, and repairs in the operation of a commercial kitchen and student residence; and adherence to and enforcement of house facility budgets and house rules and regulations. A qualified candidate will be professional, have a positive attitude, and have exceptional communication skills while being organized, flexible, and a self-starter. Pets are not permitted.
Required qualifications:
1. Ability to work in a prompt and professional manner with college-age women, contractors and vendors, university officials, and alumnae volunteers.
2. Availability to meet with vendors, contractors, contracted cook & housekeeper, and chapter members at the facility during regular workday and evening hours.
3. Availability to attend monthly evening meetings with Advisory Board members and/or House Corporation Board members.
4. Availability to attend to emergencies at the facility at any time, including during regular workday hours.
5. Computer competencies, including Google apps, Zoom, and e-mail.
