Position Summary:

Assists with all general services in the Pro Shop, including but not limited to sales, merchandising, booking tee times, answering phones, tournaments, and other golf operational tasks. Promotes the game of golf, racquet sports, and the Club while providing exceptional service to our members and guests. Assist with sales and profitability of golf shop operations. Ensures that members have a memorable shopping experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Greets and assists members and guests by name and in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
  •  Exhibits and maintains a professional and upbeat demeanor to reflect a positive and welcoming image of Boca Woods Country Club.
  • Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Schedules tee times and books lessons for golf professionals.
  • Assist Golf Professionals with scheduling lessons and general support.
  • Provides accurate information to members and guests regarding merchandise, special events, golf programs, tournaments, facilities, services, and special promotions.
  • Promotes and sells Pro Shop merchandise.
  • Assist in buying and selling merchandise.
  • Ensures merchandise is properly and creatively displayed. Assists in changing all displays on a regular basis.
  • Enters all sales transactions into the POS system, collects payments and issues receipts.
  • Resolves discrepancies as it applies to charges.
  • Executes the proper opening and closing procedures.
  • Handle special orders of merchandise.
  • Assist with receiving and pricing merchandise. Assists with checking-in merchandise and inventory controls.
  • Handle returned merchandise for credit.
  • Operate Point of Sale Register and Inventory Program.
  • Assist with monthly inventory activities.
  • Sort mail and file invoices.
  • Keep the Pro Shop neat, clean and attractive.
  • Assist with tournament and event functions as needed.
  • Adheres to all Club policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Requirements:
Proven work experience as a Front Desk manager or Reception Manager

  • Hands on experience with office machines (e.g. fax machine, printer)
  • Thorough knowledge of customer service, office management and basic bookkeeping procedures.
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Problem-solving skills
  • High School diploma; additional certification is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles and is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
