Community Integration Caretaker for Special Needs Adult Female

Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and responsible individual to serve as a Community Integration Caretaker for a special needs adult female aged 25. In this role, you will be responsible for accompanying the individual out in the community for three to four hours a day, Monday through Friday, facilitating social interactions, promoting independence, and ensuring her safety and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Companion and Support: Accompany the special needs adult female during community outings, providing companionship, emotional support, and assistance as needed.
  • Social Integration: Facilitate social interactions and engagement with others in the community, promoting social skills development and fostering meaningful connections.
  • Personal Care: Assist with personal care tasks as required, such as restroom assistance, hygiene maintenance, and ensuring the individual's comfort and dignity.
  • Safety and Supervision: Maintain a vigilant presence to always ensure the safety and security of the individual during outings, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the individual and their family members to address concerns, share updates, and coordinate activities.
  • Activity Planning: Plan and organize community activities and outings based on the individual's interests and preferences, incorporating opportunities for recreation, learning, and skill-building.
  • Transportation: Provide transportation to facilitate community outings, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and any incidents or notable events, adhering to confidentiality and privacy protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with special needs, preferably in a caregiving or support capacity.
  • Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrated ability to interact with compassion, empathy, and patience, understanding the unique needs and challenges of individuals with special needs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals with special needs, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Capacity to adapt to changing circumstances, navigate unexpected challenges, and adjust plans as necessary to ensure the individual's comfort and well-being.
  • Reliability and Dependability: Consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability, with a commitment to fulfilling responsibilities and providing high-quality care and support.
  • Valid Driver's License: Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, and the ability to safely transport the individual to community outings.
  • Background Check: Successful completion of a background check and any other required screenings or certifications.

Compensation and Benefits:

In addition to a competitive hourly wage, compensation for this position will include mileage reimbursement for community activities. Mileage rates will adhere to the organization's reimbursement policy and current IRS guidelines.

This additional benefit recognizes the caretaker's dedication and commitment to facilitating the individual's community integration and ensures that transportation expenses are adequately covered.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
