Part-Time Organist and Pianist

First Presbyterian Church of Highlands is seeking an Organist/Pianist to play for our Sunday morning 11 am worship service and all special services, including Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve, and other special services, as well as accompanying all choral anthems, solos, service music, and guest musicians.

This position also includes rehearsing with the choir at weekly rehearsals (Wednesdays 5:30-7pm) and Sunday mornings (usually 10:30-11am), and rehearsing with guest instrumentalists and vocalists as scheduled.

Compensation for weddings and funerals will be paid separately by the church.

The Organist/Pianist will collaborate with the Director of Worship and Music, the Director of Music Ministry, and the Pastors in selection of music for worship and special services.

Our organ is a circa 2004 16-rank 2 manual Wicks pipe organ.

This position is defined as $20, 000/year salary with two weeks (Sundays) and two Wednesdays paid time off for vacation. Up to two sick days per year are also provided. For additional Sundays/Wednesdays off, Organist/Pianist will be expected to compensate substitute Organist/Pianist. Vacation time cannot

be taken during Holy Week- including Palm Sunday and Easter, Lessons & Carols

Sunday, Christmas Eve evening service, or the Sunday closest to Christmas.
