Overview:

Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Yakima, WA, is looking for energetic and team-oriented individuals to fill the position of Pit Crew Member. As a Pit Crew Member, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and cooking of our signature barbecue dishes, ensuring that our guests receive top-quality food and service.

Responsibilities:

1. Help in preparing meats, sides, and other menu items following Dickey's Barbecue Pit recipes and guidelines.

2. Operate and maintain barbecue pits, smokers, and cooking equipment to ensure efficient operation and high food quality.

3. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to guarantee that meats are cooked to perfection and meet food safety standards.

4. Follow proper food handling and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

5. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.

6. Assist in managing inventory by receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and restocking supplies as needed.

7. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and assisting as required.

8. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

9. Assist with opening and closing tasks, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils.

10. Participate in training programs for skill development and advancement opportunities.

Qualifications:

1. Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred but not required.

2. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

3. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from supervisors and team leaders.

4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

5. Basic math skills for accurate measurement and portioning of food items.

6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

7. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move up to 50 pounds during shifts.

8. Food handler's permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire.

We are currently looking for part time, during our peak hours of 11am-2pm and 4pm-7pm
