JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and interact with customers
- Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise
- Assist with customers’ orders by loading and unloading products as needed
- Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse
- Assemble products and displays
- Deliver products to customer delivery points
- Performing preventive maintenance on equipment (delivery truck, forklift, etc.) and facilities
- Dispense propane and kerosene
- Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Exhibit an ability to get along with others
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment
- Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record
- Commitment to excellence especially in terms of providing outstanding customer service
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods; walk, bend, stoop and kneel frequently
- Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Proven track record of being dependable and reliable
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies
- Experience dispensing propane cylinders
- Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
SCHEDULE
Part-time, 24 – 32 hours per week. Sunday through Saturday (schedule may vary). Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
WAGE & BENEFITS
$16.80 - $19.80/hour. In addition to generous employee discounts, the company offers a 401(k) retirement program with up to 5% match and medical benefits to part-time employees upon meeting eligibility requirements.
