The Baltimore Children's Choir is searching for a music teacher to work with its school programs. The teacher will be responsible for running choir rehearsals, sectionals, and teaching general music to students in K through 8th grade. The teacher will collaborate and teach regularly with the other artistic members. Individuals should have availability during the school day (Preferably Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays).
Duties:
- Develop, create, and implement engaging music lessons for students in K-8th grade.
- Organize and lead group music activities and performances including selecting appropriate repertoire, and attending/ conducting concerts.
- Provide individualized instruction to students based on their skill levels.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.t
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
- Previous experience working with children in a teaching or mentoring capacity.
- Strong classroom management skills to effectively engage and motivate students.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning techniques.
