Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) - Music Therapy Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. As a Music Therapy Specialist, you will be responsible for incorporating music into our behavior intervention services to support children with various developmental needs. You will work closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and other professionals to design and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate music therapy techniques to address behavioral goals and promote overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to assess the needs and goals of each child receiving services.
• Design and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) that incorporate music therapy techniques to address specific behavioral objectives.
• Utilize a variety of music therapy interventions, including singing, playing instruments, songwriting, and music improvisation, to engage children and facilitate positive behavioral changes.
• Provide one-on-one music therapy sessions as well as group sessions, as appropriate, based on the individual needs and preferences of each child.
• Document and maintain accurate records of client progress, session notes, and relevant data in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with families to provide education and support on how to incorporate music therapy techniques into the home environment.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in both behavior analysis and music therapy.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and relevant music therapy organizations.

Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or intellectual disabilities.
• Proficiency in playing a musical instrument.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with children, families, and team members.
• Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for using music as a therapeutic tool to improve the lives of children with special needs.
