Job Summary:
We are seeking a part-time skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Internal Medicine practice. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive medical care to patients, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and educating patients on preventive healthcare measures. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to the overall well-being of our patients.

Duties:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections
- Prescribe medications and other treatments based on patient needs
- Provide acute pain management for patients in various settings
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Provide patient education on disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and self-care techniques
- Participate in case management activities to coordinate care for complex patients
- Stay updated on current medical research and best practices in order to provide high-quality care

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems for maintaining accurate medical records
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professionalism
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to make accurate diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes
