DATE: May 2, 2024, through June 14, 2024, by means of the National Testing Network (NTN). Candidates with a current NTN test score are welcome to submit their existing profile to the Parma Civil Service Commission via the NTN system.

SALARY/BENEFITS: 2024-Step 1 Salary: $59,740.00, 2025-Step 2 Salary: $71,763.16, 2026-Step 3 Salary: $88,434.88 plus competitive health benefits, vacation time, paid sick leave and other employment benefits.
AGE REQUIREMENTS: No person shall be eligible for an original appointment unless he/she has attained the age of twenty-one (21) years but not yet reached the age of thirty-five (35) years by appointment.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be a United States citizen and high school graduate or have obtained a GED. Copy of valid driver's license and high school diploma or GED equivalent MUST be uploaded to the NTN website at; www.nationaltestingnetwork.com Applicants must attain a minimum score of 65% on the video, and 70% each on the Reading and Writing portion to have passed the test. All candidates are required to complete the NTN Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ). Only those with a passing score and who have completed the PHQ will qualify for further stages of the testing process. Those stages include a mandatory Basic Peace Officer Training requirement and certification, polygraph test, medical exam, background investigation, psychological profile evaluation and passing of a physical agility test (required prior to original appointment but not needed to take the exam). Parma Civil Service will accept proof of passing a physical agility test from any Police Academy certified by the Ohio Peace Officers Commission with a passing score of 15% or better of the Coopers Standard Physical Agility Test for agility tests the period from May 20, 2023, through the date of appointment.

ADDITIONAL CREDIT: Additional credit will be given for the following: Military Service: 20%, Bachelor's Degree: 20%, Associate's Degree: 10%. OPOTA Certification: 20%, Current OPOTA Cadet: 10%. Proof is required prior to receiving extra credit and must be uploaded to the NTN website.
