Compass Mechanical Repair is a small automotive and diesel repair shop located in Ponderay, Idaho. We are looking to add to our team an assistant service writer. This position will report to the head service writer. Duties include answering phones, asking appropriate questions of scheduling customers to ensure they are scheduled correctly, scheduling appointments, creating service orders, closing service orders, collecting payments, advising customers of the status of thier repair, as well as managing our supplies and parts inventory, researching and sourcing automotive, light diesel and heavy diesel parts.
Applicants must have experience in the automotive/light diesel parts/service realm, and the ideal applicant will have experience in the heavy diesel parts realm. This position is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has turned wrenches before and is looking for a lighter duty job with excellent benefits. Applicant must be computer/internet savvy as our entire customer management system is a web based program and we frequently use email. Exceptional customer service skills a must!
We work four 10-hour days, Monday thru Friday, not weekends. Benefits include paid health, dental, and vision as well as vacation pay, holiday pay, simple IRA with 3% match, boot allowance and parts discounts. Pay will be $52,000 to $62,400 DOE.
