Part-Time Pediatric Medical Assistant (BACK OFFICE)

Position Description

The Medical Assistant supports the physician in providing care and comfort to infant, toddler, school-age adolescents and young adult patients by performing routine clinical and clerical tasks.

We are seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to join our team. Must have:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of patients
  • Knowledge of pediatric vaccine schedule
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be professional, with positive attitude and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to complete tasks within the given time frame

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains acceptable standard of Medical Assistant practice.
  • Prepares, administers and charts medications according to the physicians order and schedule.
  • Correctly administers and charts treatment's using proper Medical Assistant procedures, according to physician order, facility policy and infection control policies.
  • Is responsible for interpretation and execution of the physician's orders.
  • Makes decision in emergency situations and practices first aid measures.
  • Maintains medication files and requisitions for all medications and refills.
  • Inventories supplies and equipment and notifies the office manager of supply and equipment needs including replacement and repair.
  • Assists with teaching families and personnel.
  • Attends In-Service education and group meetings.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Promptly and professionally assist the doctor in patient flow, screening and care.
  • Upkeep of exam rooms (preparing, restocking and cleaning)
  • Administering immunizations and other intramuscular injections.

Qualifications: Experience in Pediatrics

  • 1 or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Medical Assistant Certificate
  • High School education or equivalent

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
