We are looking for a product-driven full-stack founding engineering lead. The heart of Aura is engineering; the heart of our engineering team is our founding engineers, who set the tone and pace of engineering at Aura. You will work directly on the technology stack that enables our customers to discover companies and roles. What You'll Do

• Influence and execute the overall vision of Aura's offerings by collaborating with Product & Design to create products that help customers discover companies
• Translate the needs of our customers by deeply understanding their needs and innovating our product features and services to exceed their expectations, ultimately enhancing their experience
• "Get Shit Done" by working on every layer of our stack, proactively troubleshooting, and solving any issues that stand in the way of our customers gaining maximum value from our product

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment
• 5 years of experience building scalable frontend and backend systems
• Track record of building highly performant, highly observable, and highly scalable systems
• Demonstrated capability in front-end development with React or Next.js, focusing on a component-driven approach
• Solid background in backend development, preferably with Cube.js or similar frameworks, and experience in building applications atop large data sets
• Knowledge in search technologies like OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, with a knack for indexing, search optimization, and enhancing query performance
• Proficiency in database management, design, and deployment
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and integrating various third-party services and APIs into cohesive applications
• Experience with Python and/or other strongly typed languages
• Obsessed about your craft and share your knowledge (tech talks, articles, open source, side projects, etc.)
• right tradeoffs for what should be MVP, and what should come next
• Ability to adjust approach: You have a good sense for when you should cut corners to ship a new piece of functionality, and when you should take the time to invest in a sound architecture for the long-haul
• Comfortable with ambiguity: You should be comfortable "filling in the gaps" in product / design specs. The prospect of being able to prototype to test ideas out before committing to building is exciting to you
• Able to work across disciplines with the minimum process to organize work and create predictability in an unpredictable space
• Have experience taking the lead in planning and executing the development roadmap for software projects
• Nice to have: experience working at B2B SaaS tech companies, especially during hyper growth
