Position could be 100% surgery on the spay/neuter side or 100% clinical on the traditional practice side, or a mix of both. Candidate preference. Pay and benefits negotiable.
Duties:
- Conduct examinations/evaluations of animals prior to procedures
- Perform surgical procedures, primarily spaying and neutering
- Prescribe medications and administer vaccinations to prevent and treat diseases
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide care for animals
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments and procedures
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state license to practice veterinary medicine
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills to interact with staff members and other veterinarians
- Ability to handle stressful situations with compassion and professionalism
- Willingness to stay updated on the latest advancements in veterinary medicine through continuing education
