We are searching for just the right person to join our team as an optician . Your job is crucial to ensuring that our patients have an enjoyable experience at our office from start to finish, and that we show excellent follow through on the back end processing side of each patient's encounter.

Work Hours:

Monday-Friday: 9am - 6pm, Saturday: 9am - 12:30pm (2 Saturdays per month)

**MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK AT LEAST TWO SATURDAY MORNINGS PER MONTH**

Primary Role:

• Adjust, repair, and fit glasses on patients
• Order glasses through VSP, EyeMed, and Visionweb portals
• Billing vision plans (primarily VSP and Eyemed) and medical plans (Medicare)
• Order contact lenses and bill insurance accurately
• Train patients on contact lens insertion and removal
• Problem-solve eyewear issues by adjusting fit, or schedule patient for Rx check with Dr.

Secondary Roles:

• Front desk duties including answering inbound calls to schedule appointments and placing outbound calls to notify patient to pickup glasses
• Check voicemails, text messages, faxes, and emails throughout the day
• Pre-Assessment of patient prior to eye examination
• Review Vision Plan eligibility and benefits with patient
• Collect payment and update patient accounting records
• Price incoming frame orders and maintain attractive frame board
• Data entry on electronic medical record system
• Maintain contact lens trials in stock
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experienced optician with 2 yrs experience working in an office setting particularly in a private optometry office
• Understanding of vision plans including VSP & EyeMed.
• Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, or Korean is helpful, but not required
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Self-motivated, reliable, dependable, punctual, with strong work ethics
• Great communication skills and customer-service oriented
• Positive attitude, caring, friendly, enjoy helping others, and a team player
• Knowledgeable with computers, social media, information technology, and computer use

• Starting pay: $20.00-$22.00/hr or higher depending on level of experience
