Handy Man Job Description

THORNE Industry, Inc. is hiring an experienced, reliable handyman to join our team. Reporting to our team lead, the successful applicant will be responsible for interior and exterior repair, maintenance, renovations and upgrade projects in our clients’ homes.

The ideal candidate will have physical stamina, technical expertise, and previous trade or handyman experience. *Must be able to get on military base.*

Job responsibilities:

• Perform basic repairs (e.g., wall damage, broken windows)
• Complete general maintenance work
• Move heavy appliances, cabinets and equipment
• Assist trades with electrical and plumbing repair work
• Paint surfaces and apply stain as needed
• Take on other installation, repair, and maintenance duties as needed and legally permitted
• Follow workplace health and safety rules
• Load and unload tools and equipment from work vehicles

Qualifications and skills:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience as a handyman (Preferred not required)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
• Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations and convert measurements
• Able to sit, stand, kneel, lift, and climb ladders
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
• Can reliably work alone and as part of a team
• Able to communicate well (multiple languages are a plus but not a requirement)
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions
• Friendly with good interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
