About Greater Mount Ararat Church

Greater Mount Ararat Baptist Church has a history rich in vision, faith and obedience, beginning with the formation of Greater Mount Eria Baptist Church. Greater Mount Eria was organized in 1966 and in 1967, a church was purchased at 1204 Eliza Street. In 1981 Rev. Ernest K. Starks was installed as Pastor, where he remained until his passing on March 25, 2023. Under Pastor Starks’ leadership, the church continued to prosper spiritually and financially. Many changes were initiated, including the formation of new auxiliaries and the reorganization of existing ones. The construction of and rebranding (name change) of the current location of Greater Mount Ararat Baptist Church was completed in December, 1991. Greater Mount Ararat Baptist church continues to keep God as the focal point of Ministry. To improve not only the physical church, but also the spiritual well-being of the church body. We offer God all the praise for what He is doing, and we wait in excited expectation for what He is going to do.

About the role

Our desired spiritual leader will be endowed with the ability to communicate God's word through dynamic, scripture-based teachings and inspirational speaking skills. We are seeking a Pastor who is empathetic, ethical, based in the teachings of Greater Mount Ararat Baptist Church. We are seeking a Pastor that will be able to continue and enhance that effort.

Responsibilities

· Prepare and deliver sermons.

· Visit bereaved, sick, and shut inn.

· Promote growth and development in the church.

· Work with Deacons, committees, and staff as they perform their assigned duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications/ Experience

· Must be licensed.

· Possess ability to effectively articulate a vision for the church Demonstrate financial awareness and responsibility.

· Possess administrative skills and be able to lead staff.

Candidate requirements

· Must be a licensed minister in the body of Christ.

· Prefer some theology training.

· Must be able to pass a background and credit check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $43,950.75 per year
