Salary:

Job Summary

  • Delivers quality client care services following physician's orders and client plan of care.
  • Assesses, monitors, and documents patient’s needs and care.
  • Collaborates with and supervises other facility health care providers to discuss client care.
  • Supervision and scheduling of the nursing team.

General Accountabilities

  • Collaborates with the intake coordinator to review the medical appropriateness from acceptable referral sources.
  • Obtains health history information and documents current physical conditions.
  • Performs initial and/or on-going patient evaluations by monitoring vital signs, administering medication, placing IVs, etc.
  • Acts as liaison between client, family, medical representatives, and benefit carriers.
  • Practices most current safety and health code standards per State and Federal regulation.
  • Collaborates with applicable facility staff, interdisciplinary team, and Primary Care Physicians to coordinate and implement the client plan of care.
  • Trains and educates nursing staff.
  • Re-evaluates client plan of care every sixty (30) days or in the event of change in condition, post-hospital stay or facility discharge.
  • Ensures documentation is completed in a timely and professional manner while remaining compliant with state and federal regulations as well as benefit insurance conditions of participation.
  • Collaborates with management team and administrative staff to facilitate timely processing of clinical paperwork.
  • Facilitates effective communication with staff as demonstrated through leadership of client case conferences, timely clinical decisions and in-service education.
  • Promotes facility services to the public and participates in physician and community education related to services provided by the facility.
  • Available for on-call supervision when assigned.
  • Attends mandatory in-services.
  • Performs other tasks as necessary.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Minimum Experience: 1 Year experience in mental health nursing preferred.
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Valid California Nursing License through the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
  • Current CPR and first aid certifications.
  • Computer literacy is required.
