Bilingual/ESL Certificate or ESL Supplemental teaching endorsement
Five (5) years teaching experience.
PREFERRED:
Mid-Management Certificate or Principal Certificate
Master's Degree in Bilingual Education or Educational Technology
Experience as a Facilitator or Administrator.
Knowledge of Curriculum planning, testing, and evaluation;
Knowledge of Objective-Based Curriculum System;
Experience in In-Service training;
Knowledge of effective teaching and research based practices;
Computer literacy experience.
Sheltered teaching and
Knowledge of educational technology, learning management systems, web 2.0 and blended learning.
RESPONSIBILITY: The role of the Specialist is to provide leadership in the areas of Elementary Bilingual and English as a Second Language (ESL) Education. To prescribe techniques and procedures to assure that the Bilingual/ESL Curriculum shall be in compliance with the requirements as set forth through Federal policies and guidelines. The Curriculum Specialist will coordinate activities in this division with the instructional and administrative services in a manner consistent with statutes and standards of regulatory agencies.
