Job Description:
The P/T Adjunct Academic Counselor will engage students through effective enrollment and case management interventions as well as provide service to the college. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess one of the following:
The successful candidate will have experience with advising and a thorough understanding of exemplary approaches to support community college students. The successful candidate must possess a high attention to detail; excellent written and oral communications skills; and an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining organized. They must also have a proactive nature; exceptional judgement; and a collegial and team-oriented temperament. Proficiency in software systems including Microsoft Office applications is required. The ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information; an ability to be flexible and adaptive to changing needs and priorities; a strong student-centered orientation; and an ability to work with a team of diverse faculty, staff and students are essential. All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice in all college policies, practices, and personnel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual verbal and written fluency strongly preferred. Experience using platforms such as PeopleSoft, Degree Works, and Starfish is desirable. Experience with student support services, youth development or similar social service programs, and/or student advising experience; demonstrated intercultural competence and a continuing commitment to advance equity, inclusion, and social justice practices in support of the needs of marginalized and minoritized student populations.
Additional Information:
POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled. This is a part time position that is partially grant funded, and the continuation of the position will be dependent upon the continuance of grant funds.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is an on-campus position. Work hours will vary, up to 28 hours per week. Evening hours will be required.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $45.32 per hour. No benefits.
