Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a variety of vehicles, including but not limited to refrigerated trailers, tankers, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, and vehicles with manual transmissions.
- Load and unload cargo or materials using forklifts or other heavy equipment as necessary.
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods or completion of tasks.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to maintain a safe driving record.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries or pickups.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery/pickup details.
Skills:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for specific vehicle types (e.g., Class A for tractor-trailers).
- Proven experience in commercial driving, with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with operating various types of vehicles, such as refrigerated trailers, tankers, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, etc.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts or loaders, for loading/unloading purposes.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe operation on the road.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with dispatchers, customers, and team members effectively.
- Ability to follow designated routes and schedules while maintaining punctuality.
- Attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery/pickup information.
