Position Summary

YOUNGLA is looking for Distribution Associates that will perform activities associated with the day-to-day operations that support distribution center warehousing requirements. This position will also support the warehouse staff and other departments within a high volume, fast-paced working environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Distribution Center Associate performs any or all distribution center functions including, but not limited to, the following:

Receiving / Replenisher / Fill Active

• Unload materials from containers, pallets, conveyors, by hand
• Convey materials using hand truck, forklift or other devices as directed by supervisor
• Sort, count, segregate, palletize cartons and shrink wraps pallets
• Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with Company safety requirements
• Complete orders accurately and places picking carts near packing stations
• Assist other workers in the performance of their job functions as needed or assigned

Order Picker

• Consistent walking and use of arms required
• Uses a Radio Frequency (RF) wearable hand scanner and iPad for picking product
• Requires continued use of a Picking Cart that must be pulled
• Works in a clean and orderly manner at all times
• Complete orders accurately and places picking carts near packing stations
• Pulls warehouse items from the shelves based on numbers and barcodes

Packing Station Operator

• Excessive standing required
• Operate computerized packaging equipment
• Scan Labels and package items for shipping
• Inspect orders and products for accuracy and report issues
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Returns/Go-Backs Processor

• Unpack returned merchandise, inspect, and categorize by quality
• Fold returned merchandise for repackaging
• Work closely with Customer Experience team as needed
• Complete data entry as needed
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Work with other departments as needed during peaks season or when lack of work

REQUIREMENTS:

• Adheres to Timecard policy, accurately and properly clocking in and out as required
• Adheres to health and safety policies when performing picking assignments
• Occasional lifts and/or moves boxes of product weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Consistently lifts, bends, stands, walks, stoops, kneels, crouches, and climbs stairs
• Uses hands and fingers to handle, or feel; repeatedly reaches overhead to accomplish tasks
• Follows instructions quickly, safely and accurately
• Has basic computer and scanner knowledge pertaining to a distribution environment
• Requires use of tape machines, carton erect and use of poly envelopes
• Experience working in a warehouse environment
• Has basic math skills with the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Able to communicate fairly in both written and spoken English

Working Conditions:

• Job is performed within a non-climate-controlled distribution center
• Overtime may be required during periods of heavy workloads and during seasonal peak periods
• Fast paced working environment
• Job requires standing, walking, bending, and stooping for extended periods
• Job requires climbing steps and working on elevated work surfaces

Experience level:

• Warehouse experience: 1-2 years
• Forklift Certified (A Plus but Not Required)

Educational Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED; applicable experience in lieu of diploma is acceptable.

SCHEDULE:

• Monday to Friday with Expected Hours of 32 – 40 per week
• 8-hour Shift Occasional Overtime
• Staggered Starting Time Shifts
• Weekend as needed.

Ability to Commute:

This position is in the Los Angeles area and is ideally suited for someone who can easily commute to our distribution center in Chatsworth, CA.
