Cost Accountant Job Description:

The Cost Accountant will play a crucial role in developing standard cost for our inventory as the company implements SAP. Once implemented, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for maintaining these costs, investigating variances, and ensuring that accounting records are accurate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to operate within a fast-paced organization.

What we are looking for in this Cost Accountant role:

• An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related business

discipline is required

• 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or

production environment

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost analysis techniques
• Proficiency in SAP ERP system or similar ERP software
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to maneuver through ambiguity in a fast-growing, startup environment
• Experience with SAP implementation projects is a plus

• Develop and maintain cost accounting records and ensure accuracy of data

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review

and actual costs, and implement corrective actions as needed

• Analyze existing cost structures and recommend adjustments to align with

standard cost methodologies

• Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory discrepancies
