D2 Government Solutions is seeking qualified candidates for full-time Lead Aircraft Mechanic at our site location in New Bern, NC.

As the Lead Aircraft and Powerplant (AP) Mechanic, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities related to aircraft and associated equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our customers’ aircraft while adhering to regulatory standards and company policies. This role requires a meticulous approach to maintenance procedures, strong leadership skills, and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of AP mechanics, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and timely completion of tasks.
• Conduct thorough inspections, repairs, and maintenance on aircraft, engines, and related components according to manufacturer specifications and FAA regulations.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize aircraft reliability and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with other departments, such as scheduling and operations, to prioritize maintenance activities and support flight operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including logbooks, maintenance manuals, and service bulletins, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic assessments to identify and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
• Train and mentor junior mechanics, ensuring their proficiency in maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary parts, tools, and equipment for maintenance activities, minimizing supply chain delays.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in aviation maintenance to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications/Education

• Experience in General Aviation Aircraft
• Certified A&P license
• Certified IA
• Managerial experience a plus
• Able to develop and implement creative, cost-effective solutions
• Able to work independently and successfully prioritize and coordinate multiple programs and assigned tasks
