Lindley Recruitment is Hiring a Traveling Superintendent Near Safety Harbor, FL

My client are a medium sized commercial Interiors and ground up general contractor that operates across America from Saefty Harbor. They are seeking a Construction Superintendent with relevant experience to supervise the field construction of commercial projects including its organization, planning, and scheduling to complete the work on time, within budget, and with quality. Reporting in to a Project Manager an ideal candidate should be willing and able to travel to construction sites throughout the United States.

The Job responsibilities of the Travelling Superintendent will be:

Lead all aspects of the company’s safety culture and create awareness by demonstrating a commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others; investigate safety incidents and retrains staff and needed.

 Provide active management of subcontractors and organization of the overall job and workflow.

 Coordinate safety meetings and subcontractors on a weekly basis.

 Develop and implement site planning, logistics and procedures for the execution of the projects.

 Develop and implement quality assurance and control procedures.

 Ensure the work performed complies with all requirements of the contract documents and specifications.

 Develop and implement work schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.

 Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, direct labor and material.

 Obtain all necessary permits and work with subcontractors to obtain their respective permits.

 Coordinate as required the activities of inspections agencies.

 Handle job labor relations.  Communicate effectively with architects and engineers.

 Read plans and create requests for information (RFIs) with proper support documentation to keep the projects moving forward at all times.

The Ideal Travelling Superintendent will:

Have a minimum of 3 years of building construction experience

Have experience on jobs up to $10 million

Be happy travelling across America

Thorough knowledge and understanding of general construction and subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, construction means, methods and materials.

 Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures.

 Computer skills and a familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs.

 Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.

 Renovation - TI of commercial office space, industrial warehouse, retail and hospitality experience preferred.

 Must be able to read plans and understand the different divisions of work along with the sequencing of inspections.

The Benefits of the Travelling Superintendent position;

Salary between $70-100k

· Car allowance around $500

· 4% match 401k

· Full medical insurance

· Per Diem paid for stay overs.
