Description

Position Summary : Plan, manage work flow, supervise and assist with operation of washing and drying machines to clean and dry hotel towels, linens and other laundry articles.

Duties :

• Set positive and professional example for other employees regarding appearance, enthusiasm, attitude, attendance and performance
• Assist with planning and managing work requirements
• Support employees with supplies and additional help as needed
• Assist with employee conflicts and / or concerns, and report to Manager
• Provide training and coaching regarding performance and behavior standards
• Receive dirty articles and sort
• Inspect for spots and stains requiring stain treatment and treat accordingly
• Load washers and dryers according to hotel procedures and machine capacity limits
• Operate washers and dryers according to machine specifications using correct settings and volume of soap, detergent, water, bleach, starch, and / or other additives as required
• Inspect for cleanliness and condition, and make recommendations to management regarding articles that may need to be removed from inventory
• Sort, press, fold / hang and store cleaned and dried articles
• Participate in inventory management of available linens and other articles
• Use cleaning solutions
• Observe health and safety precautions required to protect people, and hotel and guest property
• Report damage, theft, and found articles to management
• Assist Housekeepers as needed
• All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Education, Knowledge and Skills :

• Previous Housekeeping / Laundry experience required
• Previous leadership experience preferred
• Strong customer service skills and knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, to include assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction
• Able to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and supervisors in a positive, professional and helpful manner
• Able to listen to, understand and follow instructions, giving full attention to what other people are saying and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
• Able to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs., including up and down stairs
• Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving the whole body, to include, but not limited to, standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, tugging, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing and descending stairs
