Job Description
EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
Job Overview:
EMTs are trained medical professionals who respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care to individuals in need. They work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, often requiring quick thinking and critical decision-making skills. EMTs work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcome for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond quickly to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to individuals in need
- Assess the patient's condition and determine the appropriate course of action
- Administer basic life support techniques, such as CPR and bandaging wounds
- Transport patients to medical facilities for further evaluation and treatment
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment provided
- Stay updated on the latest developments in emergency medical care and procedures
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid EMT certification from an accredited program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and transport patients
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Previous experience working as an EMT or in a related field
